Careing paws courthouse therapy dogs
This month we officially welcomed some four-legged friends to our team. The DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office has partnered with CAREing Paws to establish the Courthouse Therapy Dog program. These amazing animals and their human partners are available to help comfort crime victims during interviews and trial preparations. They also visit once a month to offer snuggles for our attorneys, investigators, victim-witness advocates and other staff.
For the first time in the state, therapy dogs are getting their badges and getting to work at the courthouse, comforting staff and crime victims.
CAREing Paws is thankful for our partnership with Pathways. We admire their focus on mental health and wellness and we are delighted to have a part in their mission.
We're so excited that our friends at Georgia Tech Library and CBS 46 did a segment on the CAREing Paws dogs' visit to help students destress before final exams!
The CAREing Paws dogs (and their handlers) LOVE their visits at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. Check out Ralph Paba and Yola and Sandra Rowden Miles and Jazz in this phenomenal video from Piedmont Healthcare!
